Congratulations to 12-year-old Ariya Narayanasamy, 12, from the India International School in Japan for winning the 10th Japan Times Bee! Narayanasamy won by spelling the word “forbearance” correctly. According to Webster’s New World, the word means “the quality of self-control; patient restraint.”

Narayanasamy will go on to compete at the 92nd Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., this May.
