Congratulations to 13-year-old Shantanu Edgaonkar from Global Indian International School for winning the 8th Japan Times Bee! Shantanu won by spelling the word “toxicosis” correctly. According to Merriam-Webster Unabridged, the word means “a pathological condition caused by the action of a poison or toxin.”
Edgaonkar will go on to compete at the 90th Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., this May.
