If you are happy for us to use Ustream then you don&#8217;t need to do anything.<br />

<p>Schools are required to register at the Scripps National Spelling Bee website ( <a href="http://www.spellingbee.com/" target="_blank">spellingbee.com</a> ) and <a href="http://spelling-bee.japantimes.co.jp/enrollment-3/">The Japan Times Bee website</a> as well.</p>
<ol>
<li>Name of key spelling contact</li>
<li>E-mail address  &#8211; We will send the information about The Japan Times Bee to the registered e-mail address.</li>
<li>Phone number</li>
<li>School&#8217;s name</li>
<li>School&#8217;s address  &#8211; <span style="color:#ff0000">Schools on U.S. military bases need to provide us with U.S. address and the Japanese mailing address.</span></li>
</ol>
<p>Please follow the directions on the Scripps National Spelling Bee website<br />
and remit the registration fee to the spelling coordinator no later than the deadlines below.<br />
The Japan Times will be accepting 1 winning speller from each registered school.<br />
<span style="color:#ff0000">*Please note that 1 registration fee only entitles you to send 1 speller.  In the case that your school has more than one part, for example an elementary and middle school, then you will need to register these seperately and pay 2 registration fees if you want to send a winning speller from each to our Japan Times Bee next year.</span></p>

<h4>Encyclopædia Britannica is offering <strong><span style="color:#0000ff">TWO</span></strong> freeone-year gift subscriptions to Britannica Online for Kids (a $69.95 value each) for schools that enroll <span style="color:#0000ff">by </span><strong>September 30.</strong></h4>
<h4><span style="color:#0000ff">We will have a late enrollment period from October 18 through December 16 in which $75 per school late fee will apply. </span></h4>
<p>*Please note that schools need to be registered at the Scrips National Spelling Bee website and The Japan Times no later than the above deadline.<br />
*The Bee sets participants’ maximum grade level at the eighth grade.<br />
The speller must not have passed beyond the eighth grade on or before February 1, 2012.<br />
The speller must not have reached his/her 15<sup>th</sup> birthday on or before August 31, 2011.<br />
<span style="color:#ff0000">The Japan Times sets the minimum grade level at the third grade.</span><br />
